Southern Charm Rentals (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

  • Account data: name, email address, password hash, role (landlord or tenant), and profile details you provide.
  • Property and tenancy data: property names and addresses, unit identifiers, lease-related metadata, maintenance requests, documents you upload, and messages sent through the Service.
  • Payment-related data:billing details and transaction records. Card and bank account numbers are processed by Stripe; we generally receive tokens, identifiers, and payment status (not full card numbers stored on our infrastructure in the ordinary course).
  • Technical data: IP address, device type, browser type, approximate location derived from IP, cookies, and similar technologies (see Cookies below).

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate users, send transactional emails (e.g., invites, receipts, maintenance updates), and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Process payments and payouts through integrated payment providers where you authorize them.
  • Maintain security, detect fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage to improve product experience.

3. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who assist us under contractual safeguards:

  • Stripe: payment processing, Connect payouts, and related fraud prevention, subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Resend: delivering transactional and product emails on our behalf.
  • Infrastructure partners (hosted database, authentication, and file storage for application data you generate through the Service).

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or security of users and the public.

4. Data security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information appropriate to the sensitivity of the Service. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
